Wednesday 8th February to Friday 10th February..DUBBO

We set off early from Cossilis ... travelling on to Dubbo, once again taking in the strange rock formations along the way...

We stopped off at Dunedoo, which is a small town set amidst gentle rolling hills and wide valleys adjacent the Talbragar River. It is 60 km north of Mudgee, 325 km north-west of Sydney and 399 m above sea-level. It functions as a service centre to the surrounding district  which produce wheat, cattle, mixed farming, timber, fat lambs and wool.

The railway did not arrive until 1910. Before that time, travellers en route to Sydney had to journey by a horse-drawn vehicle to Mudgee, by Cobb & Co coach to Penrith. It looks like they have gone back to the old ways as this railway station has not been used in a while I would say :)

You can not go to Dunedoo without stopping at the bakery ... yum... we stocked up on an egg and bacon roll on fresh baked bread, two curry pies for lunch later and to finish off a huge apple turnover with fresh cream ... Oh boy yum !!!!

Arrived at Dubbo, by lunch time... we are here for 3 nights, because we have stayed here before and done all the tourist things... we are going to catch up on some cleaning and maintenance and washing and ironing....over the next few days..
