Tuesday 31st January to Thursday 2nd February "Kootingal"

 Tuesday 31st January

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROTHER GEOFF

Headed out to Kootingal today...steady rain all the way...not much better when we got there...We set up at the Caravan Park just around the corner from John's sister's place Diann and husband John, looks like the rain has set in...

We then visited with Diann and John and checked out their new home they have just had built its really lovely, and as always made very welcome..Diann cooked a lovely dinner.

 Wednesday 1st February

Sorry.... Just incase you didnt notice I keep putting 2011 instead of 2012 in my titles...grrrrr

Rained heavy all night and its like a swamp around the house...we sink into pools of water as we step out of it...so not much to do today, we went for a drive into Tamworth that's about it...

Diann is cooking a baked dinner tonight as it's Anthony's birthday her son in law..  Jodi & Anthony and the kids live next door to Diann and John ...they have a lovely home also and a huge tennis court at the side of it.

We had a lovely dinner and the kids all had fun singing "happy birthday" to Dad and helping blow out the candles...

After photo time we all got stuck into the yummy home made pavlova

And its STILL raining !!!!

Thursday 2nd February

And its still raining.....Moree and Taree are both under water with floods...Queensland is flooded ...when is this weather going to give us a break...

Because of the rain we just went shopping again to Tamworth and had lunch out... Diann once again is spoiling us and cooking dinner for our last night in Kootingal...

As the day progressed and the rain didn't stop ...I was starting to panic a bit thinking we would not get out of the site we were on as we are now really under water all around us. and the ground is very soft and muddy...So we decided to pack up and try and get out this afternoon because if the rain continues over night the same .. I think it would be impossible to get out tomorrow..

I finally breathed a sigh of relief when we were on the road and out of there, we parked the trailer outside Diann's place and we stayed in their house over night.

During our drive around we notice some mushrooms on the side of the road... boy do they grow things big in this part of the country......
