HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANN !!!!

Today was an amazing day.. We fitted in so much...first heading to another Nullarbor Roadhouse to play the next tee off.

On the way we saw a dead camel...and it had no head yuk !!! And before anyone asks NO. I did not take a photo ...

We passed one of the famous Nullarbor signs that everyone has a photo at .. so of course we did too...

We stopped off at "The Head of Bight" a scenic look out over the cliffs of the bight... It was a $5 fee to get to the cliffs . They charge this because in the whaling season... which is between June to October.

It's one of the most spectacular whale watching sites in South Australia. At this unique geographical spot, a mini-desert of towering sand dunes meets a sheer line of 90m limestone cliffs. In the sheltered waters of the adjacent bay, Southern Right whales congregate  to give birth to calves.
Unlike many other whale watching sites  where these whales may stay for brief periods, the whales at the Head of the Bight take up 'residence' for the entire 5 month period of winter, and generally remain within a 15km long section of coast. The site is so popular with the whales that an average of 60 at a time are found at this one spot during the height of the season. In fact, the area has been recognised as a calving ground and nursery of international significance for the species.

It was extremely cold and windy and I guess that's because we were right at the foot of the Australian Bight... Fantastic views of the cliffs...and the water was so blue...

Arrive at the Nullarbor roadhouse, John played his next tee off...

Now this is something you don't see every day !!!

After having lunch and 2 very expensive hamburgers $12 each we headed on to the next scenic look out this time it was free... To view the Bunda Cliffs OMG what a view it was just awesome...the sea was so blue and the cliffs were amazing you could just walk to the cliff edge if you wished and it was a sheer drop into the ocean... Not that you would want to be anywhere near the edge it was so windy...

We have had a  busy day today.. With golf and sight seeing and driving... So we stopped just before the WA border, for the night ... And once again we pulled up at yet another awesome place with a fabulous view out of our back window of the cliff face once again and the beautiful blue sea...It was very windy here all night and the trailer rocked us to sleep... We were joined at this spot by several other campers, enjoying this great free location with waterfront views.

We went for a look around and to see if we could get down to the beach... It was so cold .. Such a contrast from a few days ago we had 42 degree temperatures and could not get cool... Now we have our big jackets on and John even has his Ugg boots on...

We couldn't get down to the beach... But it was a great view once again.
